It is no small thing that somehow
in this supposedly advanced age
there are still those who think
the earth is flat when it is
clearly
a sphere. There is no
other side of the world. Only the long slow
arc of an object with
only one side,
in three dimensions.
Or four, if you count time, that fuzz
through which our globe slowly spins,
giving us the impression that
dark is somehow
distinct
from light. There is no
night and day. Only the long broad
sweep of our motion through
common hours,
moving in one direction.
